Terms of Service
Last updated: April 10, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Forensa ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Description of Service
Forensa provides AI-generated content detection across text, image, audio, and video media types via a web application and REST API. The Service uses machine learning models and forensic analysis techniques to estimate the probability that content was generated by AI. Results are probabilistic assessments, not definitive determinations.
3. Accounts and Access
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API keys. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. One account per person; shared or automated account creation is prohibited. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Acceptable Use
You may use Forensa for lawful purposes including content verification, authenticity auditing, compliance checks, and research. You may not use the Service to harass or defame individuals based on scan results, circumvent usage limits through automated means, reverse-engineer or extract our detection models, resell API access without written authorization, or upload content that is illegal in your jurisdiction.
5. Usage Limits and Billing
Free accounts are limited to 10 scans per 30-day period. Anonymous (unregistered) usage is limited to 3 scans per IP address per 30 days. Paid plans (Pro and Enterprise) provide higher limits as described on the pricing page. Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase.
6. Accuracy Disclaimer
Forensa's detection results are probabilistic estimates produced by machine learning models. They are not guaranteed to be accurate and should not be used as the sole basis for legal, employment, academic, or other consequential decisions. AI detection technology has inherent limitations including false positives and false negatives. We recommend using Forensa results as one input among several in your decision-making process.
7. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to content you upload. Forensa does not claim ownership of your files. Our detection algorithms, models, branding, and platform code are proprietary. The Forensa API may be used in your applications subject to these terms, but our underlying technology may not be copied, reverse-engineered, or redistributed.
8. Blockchain Records
Scan results optionally logged to the Polygon blockchain are permanent and publicly visible as cryptographic hashes. By opting into blockchain logging, you acknowledge that these records cannot be modified or deleted. The hash alone cannot reveal the original file content.
9. Limitation of Liability
Forensa is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages resulting from reliance on detection results.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
